Tripp is a partner with the Madison law firm of Mohs, MacDonald, Widder & Paradise. Tripp is the Immediate Past President of the Madison Public Library Foundation Board of Directors as well as a member of the Finance and Executive Committees. In addition to Tripp's involvement on the Madison Public Library Foundation Board, he serves as the president of the Madison Public Library Board, is a former trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Madison Rotary Foundation and former member of the Board of the Foundation for Madison's Public Schools. Tripp is committed to the Madison Public Library Foundation because he believes, "A strong and vibrant public library is critical to the civic health of Madison. In this era of tightening municipal budgets, the Madison Public Library Foundation serves as an important additional resource for our public library which is one of the remaining public services that are available to everyone in the community at no charge."
